Christmas Review, part 3

And so it continues, a review of the craftiness that was December:

handmade wood clock
for the Wincks

With help from Ryder and the GT machine shop, a slice of an old dead tree turned into a clock. When our collective parents were in town this fall, our dads cut down a dead tree from my front yard. Noticing the cool pattern in the trunk, they sliced off several one-inch slices of the trunk. The slices have been sitting on my desk ever since. This slice was milled (planed? I don’t know the technical term) to be flat, with a niche for the clock mechanism in the back. Stained and finished, it now hangs in the Winck kitchen.
